A special Cell to look into the affairs of Other Backward Class (Backward and Most Backward) students and staff of the institution is constituted and functioning in the campus in accordance with the XI plan guidelines of the University Grants Commission.

Function and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure reservation norms in the admission of students and in the appointments of teaching and non-teaching staff.
  2. Maintain social relationship among the admitted students in the college and resolve issues, grievances, representations etc.
  3. Explore redressal mechanisms and provisions for remedial coaching, counselling etc.
  4. Coordination of equal opportunity, welfare and other schemes including financial assistances from the government and UGC.

The committee meets at least once a year and submits an annual report to the Head of the Institution for OBC students who were accepted against reservation norms, admitted in general category, complaints and references reported by the students, relationship environment, facilities for girl students, financial assistances received from the state and the central governments etc.
